Maranatha Folk Art and Crib Museum

The museum shows the history of woodcarving and Christmas cribs in the Ahrn Valley. Folk art cribs from Tyrol, oriental and modern representations are displayed.

Castle Taufers

Mighty mountains surround the basin of Sand in Taufers and there the castle Taufers forms an impressive backdrop. Every year around 70,000 visitors are drawn to the castle. Children may look forward to the "armory for attacking". Art lovers can enjoy the Pacher frescoes and romantics the picture-book-like castle.

Reiner waterfalls

The Reiner waterfalls are one of the most beautiful natural spectacles in the entire Tauferer Ahrntal and beyond. The three breathtaking waterfalls are connected by the Franziskusweg. Especially with families, this trail is very popular.

Minerals museum

Be enchanted by the intense radiance of the various crystals of our mountains! ls special attraction is in addition to the largest smoky quartzes in South Tyrol and a replica of alpine tears, the most beautiful mountain crystal gnarl the world from the mine of Prettau. In the multimedia room, the emergence of the minerals, the search and their healing effects are shown.

Museum of Mining in Steinhaus

The Mining museum is an adventure museum. Valuable wooden models of mine facilities, paintings and ornate mine maps, books, documents and finds from the mine bring history from South Tyrol to life.

Mine Prettau

The mine of Prettau had its heyday 600 years ago, when the extraordinary malleability of Prettau copper was much sought after. The galleries, which are laboriously driven into the rock, are masterpieces of miner craftsmanship and can today still be viewed by those interested in a mine railway that leads into the heart of the mine.

In summer, the trails are in full bloom, while in winter, the snowy landscapes invite idyllic walks. A highlight of your visit should be the Heilig Geist Church. Its impressive architecture and tranquil atmosphere invite you to pause and recharge. The church is an important part of the region's cultural heritage. In spring, Kasern transforms into a sea of colors as the crocuses bloom. This natural spectacle attracts hikers and nature lovers, providing a picturesque backdrop for relaxing strolls.

Messner Mountain Museum

The Messner Mountain Museum initiated by Reinhold Messner comprises a six-part museum structure, with each house each dedicated to a sub-theme. The exhibition at Brunico Castle (MMM Ripa) in the Puster Valley is dedicated to mountain peoples and will be on the MMM Corones at Kronplatz the traditional alpinism dealt with on the big walls of the world.

The Folklore Museum

The Folklore Museum in Dietenheim near Bruneck lies in the heart of the Pustertal valley. It shows the environment of the everyday life of rural population of the past – from the landed gentry and the self-sustaining peasantry to the day labourers. The centrepiece is the baroque Mair am Hof residence with its stately rooms and ethnological collections.
